Originally it was a castle, which was built in the 13th century. Its first known owners were members of the family of Benešovicove. In 1580-1583 the castle was rebuilt as a Renaissance chateau with an arcade court and park. Today’s Classicist appearance comes from the period between 1806 and 1811. Since 1945 there has been the convalescent home for children there. In 1998 it was assumed as the Arts and Crafts Museum in Prague. The chateau is a four-wing building with a regular disposition whose three storied and one – southern two-storied wings enclose the rectangular court. The ground-floor Renaissance arcades are preserved on the court. In the corner above the entrance is a  three-storey Baroque tower. The chateau is surrounded by a French Park and a large English Park. Thanks to the relations with the Arts and Crafts Museum, it is possible to see the exhibition of artistic smithery and a toy collection.
