The Civilín observation tower is situated at the Eastern edge of the Krnov hill. Nearby there are the ruins of the Civilín castle and a lovely Baroque church. The tower was opened in 1903. And its construction was sponsored by the Moravian-Silesian mountain society. It got its name after its benefactor Prince Lichtenstein. The tower soon decayed and in 1966 it started being used as a broadcaster. At the turn of the 20th century it was reconstructed and the huge antennas were taken off. Nowadays it is open to the public.
